Position Overview:
The St. Charles Regional Chamber is seeking an energetic, results-driven Membership Sales Director to lead and grow our membership base. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract new members, retain existing members, and maximize membership revenue. Compensation includes a competitive base salary, commission, and a bonus structure. This is an outside sales position, exempt from overtime under the FLSA.
The primary duty of this position will be making in-person membership sales and Employee will be regularly engaged, away from the Chamber office, out in the community. Employee will report to weekly staff meetings and will be provided a desk in a shared office at the Chamber office, as well as the opportunity to work remotely from home.
The St. Charles Regional Chamber will provide a telephone and laptop. Employee will be reimbursed for reasonable business expenses (i.e. mileage, internet access, and cell phone).

Key Responsibilities:
Membership Growth:
- Proactively identify and recruit prospective members to join the Chamber.
- Develop leads independently and as provided by staff, members, online, walk-ins and phone inquiries.
- Develop and implement sales strategies and campaigns to increase membership.
- Conduct outreach activities, including cold calls, meetings, networking events, member visits and presentations for the purpose of recruiting new members and engaging new and existing members.
- Maintain and submit such records or forms as may be required for proper documentation of membership sales activity.
Member Engagement & Retention:
- Build relationships with new and existing members to ensure their satisfaction and continued involvement.
- Attend and help with Chamber sponsored events.
- Work closely with the Chamber team to identify opportunities to enhance member benefits and engagement.
- Work with staff to ensure member is getting benefits as promised.
- Follow-up with 1st year members to make sure they are satisfied and plan to renew.
- Attend and assist with all Morning Brew, Biz Brew, Lunch With Leaders, Seminars, Summits, Events, Ribbon Cuttings, Ambassador meetings and other programs / events / meetings as needed or directed.
Revenue Generation:
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual membership sales and retention goals.
- Promote additional sponsorship and advertising opportunities to members.
Reporting & Collaboration:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and membership data.
- Collaborate with the Chamber team to align membership goals with overall organizational objectives.
- Provide regular reports on membership trends and sales performance at weekly staff meetings and at monthly Board of Directors meetings.
Other Duties:
- Assist other staff and President as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a similar role, preferably in a Chamber, association, or membership-based organization.
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong degree of adaptability and flexibility to relate to a wide variety of people and projects.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of the local business community is a plus.
- Knowledge of or experience in small business issues beneficial.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry, or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Working knowledge of St. Charles County and the communities within.
Other Qualifications:
- Must have valid driver's license, car insurance and provide own transportation. (The Chamber may provide these while employee is working)
