St. Charles Regional Chamber Discontinues Sip & Savor St. Charles County Taste Event
2024 Marked the Final Year for the Long-Running Event
St. Peters, MO (September 10, 2024) – The St. Charles Regional Chamber Board of Directors has voted to discontinue the Sip & Savor St. Charles County event, with the 2024 celebration marking the final year for the long-running tradition. The 25th anniversary edition of Sip & Savor, held earlier this month, will be remembered as the event’s final chapter.
The decision to discontinue the event was driven by several challenges, particularly in securing participation from local food vendors. The restaurant industry continues to face hurdles in staffing food booths, grappling with rising food costs, and maintaining the quality of offerings under event conditions. These factors have made it increasingly difficult to host the type of experience attendees expect from Sip & Savor.
While beverage vendors, event sponsors, and ticket sales have remained strong, the absence of sufficient food vendor participation has greatly impacted the essence of the event. Without the integral presence of diverse food offerings, Sip & Savor simply isn’t the same.
“We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of the City of St. Peters, our sponsors, vendors, and the many volunteers who have helped make Sip & Savor St. Charles County a beloved tradition in St. Peters for the past 25 years,” said Scott Tate, President & CEO of the St. Charles Regional Chamber. “Their dedication and partnership have been invaluable, and we are proud of the community connections this event has fostered over the years.”
“The City of St. Peters has been honored to support the annual St. Charles Regional Chamber’s Sip & Savor throughout the years by hosting the event at 370 Lakeside Park,” said Mayor Len Pagano. “We are saddened to see Sip & Savor come to an end; but have many fond memories of the annual event and look forward to our continued relationship and future events with the Chamber of Commerce.”
The St. Charles Regional Chamber will continue to explore new and exciting opportunities to engage the community and support local businesses.
This event is a fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit 501c(6) & held rain or shine. No refunds for tickets will be made.
