CAVE SPRINGS INTERCHANGE

The 40-year-old bridge over Interstate 70 was replaced with a wider bridge to accommodate a single-point urban interchange (SPUI). A new overpass was built to allow traffic on Veteran’s Memorial Parkway to go under Cave Springs without stopping at a traffic signal. There is also a new ten foot-wide multi-use pedestrian connection across I-70.

ZUMBEHL INTERCHANGE

This interchange was replaced with a new single-point urban interchange (SPUI). Other changes included extending the entrance ramp from Zumbehl to westbound I-70 and the exit ramp from eastbound I-70 to Zumbehl. This allows for easier merging. A new ten-foot-wide multi-use pedestrian connection across I-70 was built.

ROUTE 94 INTERCHANGE

This interchange has been widened to accommodate three left turn lanes to southbound Route 94 and two right turn lanes to northbound Route 94. Modified right turn lanes will help eliminate traffic weave.

NORTH OUTER ROAD

A new westbound north outer road was built between Convention Center/Fairgrounds and Route 94/First Capitol. The new outer road, which also includes ramps to and from I-70, ends at the improved Route 94/First Capitol interchange.
