Saint Peters Artist Named Missouri Featured Artist by the Missouri Arts Council
The Missouri Arts Council recently named Beena McMahan, of BeenzM Creative (a new Chamber member), a Missouri Featured Artist. The Missouri Arts Council shares more about her work, as well as that of other featured artists, on their Facebook page. The Council recently shared: “Even while she was working for 20 years in the legal field, Missouri Featured Artist Beena McMahan was making art. 'I have always enjoyed drawing, painting, and making cards and gifts for loved ones,' she says. 'When I began receiving commission requests after making portraits for a fundraiser, this prompted me to seriously consider art as a career.' In just a few years she’s built a flourishing full-time practice."
Beena McMahan launched BeenzM Creative and became an investor member of the Chamber to connect with the community and local businesses. In addition to her own original art, she takes on commission work from portraits to larger works like murals and window painting. Beginning in October, she will be showcasing her work and services at the Midland States Bank at Weldon Springs as a spotlighted local business. She will also be teaching drawing classes at the Foundry Art Centre in Saint Charles Saturdays in October for middle school aged students.
BeenzM Creative is booking now for seasonal window and mural projects, offering local businesses and schools a unique way to enhance their storefronts and interiors. Businesses and schools interested in custom artwork, including window paintings, murals, or commissioned pieces, are encouraged to contact her directly. More of her work can be viewed on facebook.com/beenzmcreative, instagram.com/beenzmcreative, and beenzmcreative.com.
